„We are not determined by our experiences, but the meaning we give them is self-determining.”

Ichiro Kishimi

Why do therapists actually reveal so little about themselves?

Therapy is a place where you do not have to function.

A space where everything is allowed to be present — thoughts, feelings, doubts, contradictions.

That is why the therapist consciously stays in the background.

Not out of distance, but to create space for what truly matters: your inner experience.

In psychotherapy, this is referred to as the 'blank canvas.'

The less personal information takes centre stage, the more freely what moves you can emerge — without comparison, without judgement, without distraction.

This stance is not withdrawal, but a clear, professional presence.

It enables trust — without pressure, without the need to adapt, without the feeling of having to please.

Therapy is not a place for self-presentation or self-optimisation.

It is a place of genuine encounter — with yourself, and in protected contact.

Here you are allowed to rediscover yourself.

Mindfully. Authentically. At your own pace.
